Fighting Climate Change
Point Danger Reserve is doing its part to fight climate change by a small portion of its space to green energy in the form of wind turbines. The position of these turbines on the landscape has minimal impact on wildlife and no noticeable effect on the colony of Gannets. They are far enough from the ocean that Gannets and other pelagic birds are unlikely to injured by the blades, yet close enough to the coast that inland birds are highly unlikely to come into contact with them.
The wind along our southern coast is particularly conducive to the wind power, resulting in minimal downtime for turbines. We will continue to search for innovative solutions to combat climate change!
